6.3.1. Adjustment of the parking brake system

For cars with drum brake mechanisms: adjust the drum brake mechanism.

Uncover diagnostic connection.

Separate the lever of the drive of the parking brake system from the central console and lift up.

Weaken an adjusting nut completely.

Install the lever of the drive of the parking brake system in situation "0" it (is switched off).

Press a brake pedal completely at least 5 times.

NOTE For adjustment of the course of the parking brake system in a brake support or the brake drum – be convinced that every time when at turning on of the parking brake system, the pedal of a brake comes back to initial situation it (is completely unloaded). In cars with drum brake mechanisms operation of the adjusting lever cannot be heard.

Lift the lever of the drive of the parking brake system of 5 times against the stop and again lower.

Lift the lever of the drive of the parking brake system on 2 clicks.

Turn an adjusting nut on the lever of the drive of the parking brake system before emergence of notable resistance to rotation of back wheels.

NOTE The braking effort has to be equal on both wheels.

Lift the lever of the drive of the parking brake system on 3 clicks.

NOTE Wheels have to be blocked on the 3rd click.

Fix corrugated cabins of the lever of the parking brake system on the central console.

Attach a cover of diagnostic connection.
